Bluebird House
We started making these Bluebird houses for ourselves and got so many requests from bird lovers for houses that we began to sell them online. They are made to "Bluebird Specifications" with the correct size entry hole, an easy swing-open front for quick cleaning and made out of a rough sawn pine lumber so that the little fledglings can grip the wood easily as they try their wings at first flight. The swing open front is secured by only one screw at the side base...just unscrew it and the front swings outward and upward. It also has a pre-drilled hole at the top and base to easily start a screw or nail when hanging to a tree or post. The thick pine lumber that they are made out of will outlast other less expensive houses where the lumber tends to not withstand the weather very long. These are very sturdy. Remember to always face the entry hole away from the cold North winds when choosing your location to hang the Bluebird house. The weight of the house is a bit over 5 pounds. Overall dimensions at all of the widest points are: Height 16 1/4", Depth: approx. 8" and Width: approx. 7 3/4". Pine Lumber used is 1" thick and natural in color. There are two holes up top under roof for ventilation and drainage gaps at the bottom, also for good ventilation. Price includes shipping to anywhere in the US. At the end of every year, a portion from the sale of every Bluebird House will be donated to The Nature Conservancy.
